There is no shortage of superlatives to convey the impact Nile Rodgers has made to popular music thanks to tracks like \u00ab\u00a0Good Times\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Get Lucky\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Le Freak\u00a0\u00bb and so many more.<\/p>\n<p>Among music legends, Nile Rodgers is truly exceptional. He amplifies his legacy as a multi-Grammy-winning composer, producer, arranger and guitarist by constantly and successfully expanding the boundaries of popular music. As the co-founder of CHIC, Rodgers pioneered a musical language that generated chart-topping pop hits like &#8220;Le Freak,&#8221; sparked the advent of hip-hop with &#8220;Good Times,&#8221; and won CHIC eleven Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations. His work in the CHIC Organization, established with bassist Bernard Edwards, and his productions for artists like David Bowie and Madonna have sold over 200 million albums and 50 million singles worldwide while his innovative, trendsetting collaborations with Daft Punk, Avicii, Disclosure, and Sam Smith reflect the vanguard of contemporary music. He has four decades of pop anthems with more than 200 production credits to his name.<\/p>\n<p>If 2017 is any indication, Nile Rodgers is already setting more precedents in his own illustrious career. He\u2019ll join the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame\u2019s Class of 2017, receiving the HOF\u2019s \u201dAward for Musical Excellence,\u201d and was recently the featured keynote speaker at the illustrious South by Southwest Music Conference. Earlier in 2016, Rodgers scored four #1 hits on, including his collaboration with Christina Aguilera on \u201cTelepathy.\u201d \u00a0Nile was inducted (along with Bernard Edwards) into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and he accepted the \u201cEBONY Icon Award\u201d at the EBONY Power 100 Event in Los Angeles. The French Embassy in New York also bestowed Nile with the \u201cOrdre des Arts et des Lettres\u201d medal. Signed to Warner Bros., Rodgers is currently recording <i>It&#8217;s About Time<\/i>, the first new CHIC album in 25 years. &#8220;I&#8217;ll Be There,&#8221; the album&#8217;s first single, went to #1 on the Billboard Dance Charts while the accompanying video generated nearly three million views in less than a week. One of the world&#8217;s most dazzling headliners, Rodgers continues to tour globally with CHIC.<\/p>\n<p>A native New Yorker raised in the city&#8217;s thriving bohemian subculture, Nile Rodgers established the CHIC Organization Ltd. after partnering with bassist Bernard Edwards in the Big Apple Band. Between 1977-1983, CHIC&#8217;s blend of jazz, funk, and disco dominated the airwaves and has since influenced a range of hip hop and EDM acts, ultimately distinguishing CHIC as the &#8220;most sampled band in history&#8221; (<i>The Guardian<\/i>, 2011).
