Saodaj’

Thanks to their crystalline voices and their impetuous triple-beat music rhythm, they have managed to mark world music. The young quintet finds its sources in Southern, West African and European influences. Though resolutely open to hybridizations, they remain attached their history as illustrated by the maturity of their acoustic fusion.
Led by the charismatic singer Marie Lanfroy, this nomadic maloya is more than a musical promise. Through her dazzling vocal trances, Saodaj’ invigorates a genre with ecstatic virtues. “An audacious and original band, which musically magnify the cultural richness of la Reunion with lyrics that are contemporary and open to the world.” (Le Mauricien).
