Nawal Al Zoghbi

NAHDA SPACE Lebanon Oriental

The Diva of the 1990’s, Lebanese singer Nawal Al-Zoghbi, has released 14 albums ever since the beginning of her career back in 1988.  It was in the program, Studio Al-Fann (or the Arts’s Studio) that she stood out and then moved on to produce her first album, dubbed Wehiaty Endak (By my Life which is entrusted with you). In 1995, a famous Lebanese impresario (agent) gathered together Nawal with singer Wael Kfoury. Together they sang three songs, the most popular of which being Min Habibi Ana (I am (the twin half of) my Beloved). The song caused quite a stir across the Arab world. In 1997, Nawal released her album, titled Habeit ya Leil (I have Loved, O Night!) with an avant-garde video-clip, which has enabled her to enhance her popularity across the Arab world, from the Maghreb to the Persian Gulf.
