Born in Oujda, Hamid Bouchnak comes from a family of artists. His father, Benyounes, is a renowned musician in the Arab-Andalusian musical world. Considered as one of today’s greatest Moroccan artists, Hamid Bouchnak is talented not only in song but also in musical composition. He was also one of the pillars of the band which he constituted along with the four Bouchnak brothers. For more than 10 years, the Bouchnak Brothers achieved one success after another before they parted ways in 1992. Hamid launched a solo career during which he released more than 11 successful albums. While being rich in Moroccan sounds and tunes, Bouchnak’s career still is open to world’s musical traditions.
