on Friday May 20th, 2016
Rabat, April, 19th, 2016 – Maroc Cultures Association is proud to announce the appearance of Chris Brown for a concert on Friday May 20th, 2016, on the stage of the OLM Souissi, for the opening of Mawazine’s 15th edition. This will be Chris’ first performance in Morocco and it only illustrates once again the festival’s attractiveness among the greatest figures of world music.
Grammy Award winning and multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter CHRIS BROWN recently made his sixth #1 album entry on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop chart with his latest release ROYALTY (RCA Records), according to Nielsen SoundScan. Not only did ROYALTY hit #1 on the R&B charts, but #2 on both the Top Album Sales and Digital Albums charts, and #3 on the Billboard 200 chart. This album is Chris’ biggest first week sales debut since F.A.M.E which released in 2011. This also marks the seventh time Chris has debuted in the Top Ten of the Billboard 200 Charts.
With his incredible national television performance of “Zero” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and the highly talked about “Royalty Live” concert series, combined with the ongoing chart-topping success of “Liquor,” there’s no question why the talented Chris remains a mainstay at top of the charts.
Not only did Chris produce one of his most successful albums to date, but Chris also released an 8 music video series directed by Chris Brown himself. In the weeks prior to Chris’ December 18th release of ROYALTY, Chris performed to three sold-out “Royalty Live” concerts in Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. On top of the sold out performances Brown released a 5 music video series for album tracks “Back To Sleep,” “Wrist” feature Solo Lucci,” “Anyway” featuring Tayla Parx, “Picture Me Rollin’,” and “Little More (Royalty)” featuring a cameo by his daughter Royalty, along with already released music videos for singles “Liquor”, “Zero”, and “Fine By Me.”
It’s been nine years since the multi-talented Brown arrived on the scene as a 16-year-old with “Run It!” Since then he’s racked up total U.S. album sales of 8.3 million, six No. 1 singles (two on the Hot 100; four on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs), 12 top 10 Hot 100 singles and 26 top 10 singles on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Meanwhile, his total song sales stand at 42 million and he has over one billion views on VEVO. Adding the coveted Grammy Award to his collection, Brown is the recipient of over 40 awards, including a Billboard Music Award for Top R&B Artist in addition to the 2012 BET Awards for Best Male R&B Artist and the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards for Best Male Video and Best Choreography for “Turn Up the Music.”
