A famous Moroccan musical group, founded in the sixties from Hay El Mohammedi in Casablanca, by Boujmea, Larbi Batma, Omar Sayed, Abdel Aziz Taheri and Mahmoud Saadi.
The creation of Nass El Ghiwane instigated the spread of an important new music, which contributed significantly to Moroccan heritage music, which had been neglected for decades.
Nass Al Ghiwane has received many awards and recognitions in Morocco and abroad. In addition, the group’s artistic print was showcased in the documentary “Trances” by the film director Ahmed El Maanouni, which is today considered a historical masterpiece, and was chosen by Martin Scorsese to exhibit at the inauguration of the World Cinema Organization.
