At the age of 23, Elida Almeida wards off te fate of a difficult childhood the day she released a bright new album bathed in folk melodies, tinged with the rhythms of the island of Santiago: batuque, funana and morna, assisted by the delicate arrangements of the guitar player, Hernani Almeida.
