UNDER THE HIGH PATRONAGE OF HIS MAJESTY KING MOHAMMED VI

Agathe Iracema (The Brazilian Music Band)

HISTORICAL SITE OF CHELLAH Ilha Grande/Brésil World music

Born in Paris, Agathe Iracema discovers jazz at a very early age through tap dancing and her Brazilian bass player father. At the age of 14, she is mentored and chosen by the American singer, Sheila Jordan. Further to this meeting, she makes her first recording and right after starts her Quartet. In her latest project “Feeling Alive”, one can appreciate prominent artists like the trumpeter Nicolas Folmer and the trombonist Fred Wesley. This album combines her love for Jazz and for Brazilian music. With her reflective singing style, she swings between Billie Holiday’s in terms of interiority and Tania Maria’s joyful energy and sense of rhythm. On stage, she can enchant her audience by her vocal qualitie and sublime voice, and impress by her radiant presence.

His repertory ranges from bossa nova precursors to contemporary rhythms through her father’s compositions that grew up listening to as a kid: a magnificent journey into the heart of her Brazilian roots.
