Born in Agadir, Farid Ghannam grew up in an artistic ambience—his mother being a pianist and his father a drummer. When he himself evolved into a confirmed musician in the Gnaoui genre, he became particularly fond of the Guembri and also developed an interest in a strings instrument, namely, the bass guitar. He also performed with several Moroccan bands, notably Mayara Band. In 2012, the career of Farid Ghannam took another turn with his participation in the first Lebanese Edition of the Voice. He joined the team coached by Sherine Abdelwahab and evolved. Nicknamed Farouala, he managed to reach the final stages of the competition and managed to attract millions of views on Youtube.
